Default Just coming back

After a 2 year hiatus playing wow(aka grindfest) Ive decided to come back to GW.I played from beta till just before factions came out.

The game has changed so much it seems, and its a little overwhelming. But the main question i have here is regarding characters. I have prophecies and eotn, however im looking at factions and was wondering if it is possible at all to make an assassin and get it to post searing ascalon at lvl 5-6 ish.

Thanks in advance

You can only make an Assassin that starts in factions, you can't make a pre-searing one.

Yes, i know that much :P

to clarify: if i make an assassin in the factions campaign would i be able to immediately bring it to *post* searing ascalon(level permitting) to play and level with friends who only have prophecies?

Oh, not immediately. You'll have to finish the starter Island in factions and get to Kaineng center (doesn't take long, and you'll be at least level 15-16 by the time you get there - leveling in factions is fast.) And from there you can do a quest that will take you to Lion's Arch.

By the time you're able to jump from Cantha to Tyria, you'll likely be lvl 18 or so. You'll enter in Lion's Arch.

If you really, really want to, you can find a runner to take you from there back to Ascalon City and meet your friends. The problem is that you will not have anything meaningful to accomplish until you arrive in Kryta again.

Nope. It would take time. You'd need the Zen Daijun mission completed, be able to use the boat to get to mainlands, take a quest in Kaineng to get to Lion's Arch, get a runner from Lion's Arch to Ascalon.
